Our family has recently gotten more into sensory items and tools that help with emotional regulation. These are things that seem to help one, some or all of us. **DISCLAIMER** I am not a therapist, physician, clinician, or anything “ician”…just a mom sharing ideas, tools, and items that are working for us. These are just some of our favorite sensory items. Gracias!!!

This plushie came highly recommended to us and we approve! It’s small, quiet and very soothing. (Which is especially great for bedtime!)

hand2mind Purple Indoor Scooter Board with Safety Handles for Kids Ages 6-12, Plastic Floor Scooter Board with Rollers, Physical Education for Home, Homeschool Supplies (Pack of 1)
The girls LOVE scooting around the house on these. We love them so much, we got a set for outdoors! Scooting around on their bellies seems to be calming but also fun!

CHAMPS Ear Muffs for Noise Reduction Earmuff Noise Protection Reduction Headphones for Toddlers Kid Children Teen NRR 25dB Safety Hearing Ear Muff Air Shows, Concerts, Firework, Study [Pink]
According to the kiddos, these “get the job done”. They don’t cancel noise COMPLETELY…but enough to lessen the aural input.

ProCase Noise Reduction Safety Ear Muffs, Hearing Protection Earmuffs, NRR 28dB Noise Sound Protection Headphones for Shooting Gun Range Mowing Construction Woodwork Adult Kids -Red
Of course, Mama had to get a set of her own! My head is larger than most, so these are a bit snug (as are most hats and sunglasses) but they work! Again, they don’t cancel noise completely (and I wouldn’t want them to since I’m still in parenting mode when I wear them)…but they take the edge off when I’m feeling the sting of sensory overload. For the price, these are great!

Vanblue Large 8 Pcs Pop Tubes Fidget Toys Sensory Fidget Tubes Toys Autism Summer Party Favors for Kids Back to School Gifts Classroom Goodie Bag Fillers Anxiety Stress Relief Toys for Kids Adults
As a mom who lives in perpetual sensory overload, these are a nightmare. <insert laughing crying emoji> But my kiddos love them!

Kinetic Sand, 2.5lbs Purple Play Sand, Moldable Sensory Toys for Kids, Resealable Bag, Ages 3+
My kiddos LOVE these!

Sensory Swing
This is, by far, our FAVORITE sensory item of all time. (So much so that we ended up getting a second one, of course!) We are fortunate to have a large basement, so ours are installed there.

ARK's Brick Stick XXT Textured Chew Necklace Made in The USA (Lavender, Extra Extra Tough)
If your kiddo likes to chew, this is sturdy and cute!

Stress Balls Set, Squishy Stress Ball, 4 Pack Squeeze Ball for Adults, Autism Hyperactivity , Stress Relieve, Increase Entertainment
We liked these so much, we ended up getting a second set.

A weighted blanket is an absolute must in our house. (PRO TIP: Make sure you check the weight of your blanket and take your child’s weight into consideration before buying. Not all blankets weigh the same!)

Special Supplies Squishy Fuzzy Band Bracelets for Kids, 6 Pack, Flexible and Stretchy Wearable Sensory Toys, Tactile Silicone Squiggly Touch, Bright and Colorful Wristbands

The former teacher in me cringed when I saw these but I ended up getting them anyway. They were SO helpful when we needed to be seated and quiet for a long period of time. We may or may not have gotten some side eye but at this point in my parenting journey, I have learned to care less about what people *may* or may not think and more on the wellbeing and happiness of my children. This helped my kiddo stay regulated and we were able to get through our event in peace. A win for all!

This list is by no means an exhaustive list but hopefully, it will help you on your way. Shopping for sensory items can be overwhelming!

Wishing you a day with *just* the right amount of sensory input,
